I just got off stage at Social Media Fest 2025 in Mission, Texas.
Backstage before my talk, I watched three other speakers pace. Checking notes. Running through opening lines. Deep breathing exercises. One guy was literally shaking.
After my session, we all grabbed drinks. Someone asked: “Were you nervous?”
I wasn’t. Not even a little.
Not because I’m naturally confident. Not because I’ve done it a thousand times.
Because I wasn’t performing.
