The Gym Isn’t About Your Body

It’s 6 AM and I don’t want to go.

My body is sore from Tuesday. I slept like shit. I have back-to-back calls starting at 9. I could skip today, go tomorrow, nobody would know.

I’m sitting on the edge of my bed having this entire negotiation with myself. Finding reasons. Justifying. Bargaining.

Then I put my shoes on.

Not because I suddenly felt motivated. Because I know what happens if I don’t go.

This isn’t about the workout. It’s never been about the workout.

It’s about the six seconds between “I don’t want to” and “I’m doing it anyway.”

That gap is where everything is built.
