The busiest people respond fastest.

This seems backwards. You’d think the person with the most on their plate would be the slowest to get back to you. But watch who actually responds. The CEO answers in minutes. The person “thinking about it” takes three days.

It’s not because the CEO has more time. It’s because they’ve figured out something most people haven’t: slow decisions don’t give you better information. They just spread the anxiety over more time.

Here’s what speed actually does: it creates data.
