Walk into any older person’s home and you’ll find the same thing: a cabinet full of nice dishes that never get used. Crystal glasses still in boxes. Good silverware wrapped in cloth. All of it saved for special occasions that came and went without them.
Ask them why they didn’t use it and they’ll say the same thing: “It wasn’t special enough yet.” The birthday wasn’t big enough. The anniversary wasn’t a milestone. The holiday dinner was just family. None of it qualified.
So the nice things stayed nice by never being used. And eventually they became inheritance. Passed down to children who also don’t use them. Also waiting for something special enough.
You’re doing the same thing. Different items, same pattern.
