Walk into any entrepreneur’s office and you’ll find the same books.

The Lean Startup. Zero to One. Good to Great. The entire Tim Ferriss catalog. Everyone’s reading the same frameworks. Following the same playbooks. Building the same businesses.

Then they wonder why they’re competing with a thousand other people doing exactly what they’re doing.

Here’s what nobody tells you: Business books are intellectual comfort food. They validate what you already believe. Give you frameworks everyone else has. Make you feel productive while keeping you average.

The education system trained you for this. Specialize. Pick a lane. Become an expert in one narrow thing. Stay in your field. Read what everyone in your field reads. Think how everyone in your field thinks.

This keeps you employable. Controllable. Easy to replace.

It also keeps you competing with everyone else who followed the same path. Same education. Same books. Same mental models. Same solutions to the same problems.

Your competitive advantage isn’t knowing more about your field. It’s knowing things nobody in your field knows.

And those things don’t come from reading more business books.
